A problem has been found at 11.1 which involves the updating of records within transactional boundaries. If the file in which the update is being performed contains a virtual field index (i.e. an index created on an I-descriptor or Pick style correlative), the program doing the update might abort with a core dump. The problem was related to memory corruption and the failure might manifest itself in multiple ways. The most common failure seen was on the WRITE statement itself but the program could also fail on other statements. The failures seen were also inconsistent so the same operation may not generate a failure if repeated a second time. This problem impacts releases 11.1.0, 11.1.1, and 11.1.2. The problem has been fixed under RT Issue UNV-5181 and will be available in UniVerse 11.1.3 and higher. |
